I need to know what the DR 78-14 translates to when I go to buy tires...everywhere I look wants width, aspect ratio, and diameter....I know the 14 is the diameter...but what are the rest of the measures?
D is the non metric style of measuring a tire. D I believe equates to about a 195 metric. I am sure there is a conversion online. The R is for radial and the 78 is the aspect ratio of heigth vs width.
D is for the width measurment. Now radials use it as directional. I recall having F60's on the front and G50's on the rear for a while. Yuck! Not a good look! I believe stock size were C or D 78's. Scott
Golly,,,I'm starting to dig a grave! I thought a 8.00x 15 was a old tire an 14" tire was what that jap crap had on it! And not too many were loaded on the boat yet! Still on that german peoples car! They had 4.75x15's I think
It never occurred to me that someday people would not understand the old tire size terminology. I wonder if anyone is old enough to know what a widget is? Dan
