Some people thought the Earth was flat too. So what? That didn't make it so. They were stupid. I don't care what stupid people think...

Personally i love them.I think the early small bumper pintos are really neat looking. The first real fast car i rode in was a 1971 Pinto with a rowdy 289 Toplaoder 4spd combo. That was in 1981 i was 7 years old and that little car went 12.00-12.10 back then. And yes it was a street car.

Way back when, I got a Pinto wagon from a buddy who owed me money. It was in perfect shape, ran great, and though I thought the coupes weren't that great looking, that 2-door wagon had some nice lines.

I drove the piss out of that car for three years, never gave me a lick of trouble, got great milage, and hauled alot of my junk to boot.

I traded it off for a 66 Chevelle body, and the guy that got it off me dropped a 302/toploader 4-speed/9-inch in it, and used it as his street car/showcar.

that was 26 years ago....it's still on the road, but it's got an EFI 5.0 and T-5 in it now.....still turning heads at car shows and tearing up the streets.

That's rediculous...just like any other car with that crap on it! We need a puke icon on here.

I had a 1975 2-door Pinto with a trunk, not a hatchback. I bought it in 1977 and drove all through college. I would love to have it back. It was very dark blue, had all the optional chrome, and I put a set of U.S. slots on that car. It looked great. I put a header and a Holley 2-bbl on that 2.3 engine and got great gas mileage with the factory 4-speed. If I still had it, I'd leave it the same way and stick a 5-speed in it and get well over 30 mpg to and from work. Oh, my dealer installed the shield around the gas tank. I guess it was because I had it during college, but I had more fun with car than any I've ever owned except for my '67 Fairlane.:yahoo:

By the way, T.L., I'm not stupid. I'll match my intellect against anybody on this forum.:D
