Check this eBay store. He has all the same stuff, only cheaper BIN and cheaper shipping. Just a heads up to save you some dough! http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZscale-auto-garage
I just noticed this sweet set of 4 Comets! http://cgi.ebay.com/1971-MERCURY-CO...goryZ223QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Well ... I was gonna boycott motormax until they come out with a 1:24 Grabber with Grabber hood and Spoiler ... but that Stallion does look pretty good ... http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-1-24-Scale-...ameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem#ebayphotohosting
I bought my Grabbers from them, but they don't seem to have the Stallion? I'm going order one from the Maverick Connection right away!
Chuckie doesn't have them yet. He is taking preorders. Drop the other guys an email, I bet they pick one up for you!
I bought a set off Ebay and it didnt come with the box. So I ordered a set from on of those diecast websights and it was a few dollars cheaper and did come with the box.
I know he's only taking pre-orders that what I put in my first post, He's taking pre-orders so he'll get my business.
So far, Motormax says they are only releasing two colors of the Maverick and two colors of the Comet in individual boxes. I'm guessing it's just a marketing ploy, forcing dealers to buy the 4-color, 4-car sets in order to get the two other colors not available individually boxed. When I helped them with the design for the 76 Stallion diecast, I suggested the Magnum 500 wheels they already have for their Boss 429 Mustang but they look pretty out of scale on the real diecasts; worse than the photo. I think they're planning on using a late model wheel instead. Not my preference of course, but I'm sure they're doing it to reuse a currently produced wheel and save money, which is understandable. Speaking of saving money, contrary to some prior post from some know-it-all, The Maverick Connection charges the actual shipping charges on its diecast auctions. Note the other eBay seller charges a flat fee of $8.00. That's how that seller manages to list them for a Buy It Now of only $12.98. He makes it up on the shipping end. I've found so far that shipping cost for one diecast generally runs around $5.60 or less. It can be more to certain zip codes, but it's still the actual shipping with no markup. The other diecast seller on eBay DOES charge less for a whole set of four, so for those wanting all four colors, that IS the better deal. I figured most people wouldn't want all four colors so I choose to sell them individually. I have encouraged Motormax to do an early model Grabber from the moment I learned they were even considering a Maverick diecast. I have also encouraged them to do radio control versions like they did with the Pinto and Pacer, but they have indicated so far they have no plans to do so. I WAS able to convince them to do the Stallions though. I'm sure glad to have that one available, and I can't wait to add them to my own collection. Should I start signing off with "Correcting the many incorrect posts of those claiming to have the 411" or something like that?
