Well, I guess I'll just have to wait until they get about 10 years old and everybody is dumping them for whatever is next for me to be able to afford one. I sure hope that Chrysler has improved it's quality since it departed from Diamler Benz. I've read that the trannys and rear ends are junk- and that the engine electronics aren't consumer [read hot rodder] friendly. I know for a fact the electronics on my PT cruiser aren't that great, I lost all my lights due to a single wire being pinched by some of the under dash plastic, and the so called "multifunction" turn signal, headlight, headlight dimmer, fog light switches are junk, and are prone to catch fire for no reason at all. German quality, yeah, right.
i worked for chrysler while it was owned by Mercedez and needless to say that the quality of vehicles can only get better. but keep in mind, this is from a Chrysler Technician's point of view. as for the price, that's actually a little lower than what they was talking when it first became a concept. needless to say, great deal for the $$$ IMO
I guess their quality has went the way ours did for many years, down. All the VW's I 've owned were great, well built cars. This Chrysler PT, US built with German tech, is about half a$$ed. When it works right, I like it, but the quality still doesn't match the old VW.
