Dave, I was surprised how stable it was. I had heard horror stories like yours and was kind of leery too. My friend is the kind of guy that just has to goose the engine to show off. He did it several times, up to 7,000 rpm, to show it off running. It sat there, never tried to spin around or tip over. I think the headers had something to do with it as they point straight out the side, pushing against one another. When we cranked it for the first time, I held on to the front end because of the front wheels turn but it was not necessary.
I was lucky I was standing on the opposite side of the torque spin. It would have rolled right over me. I didn't goose it much either. The thing didn't give me a chance, it was rolling away almost instantly.
I've got a 460 that was turning down in the 10's in a '72 Ranchero we can use for the video. That ought to do some tumbling.
Ok...I'll make you the same offer I made Dave. You goose it, I'll film it! YOU TUBE...HERE WE COME!!!
I'll be sure to stand on the right side of it so it mows me down. I'm sure some people here would like to see that.
That would be pretty cool! Oh yeah, if I make any money off the video, I'll give you 10% of it (or your heirs).
