I have a 93 mercury tracer. When it gets down to about a half tank of gas it likes to die when I take a hard right turn. No problem on a left turn. Any ideas on what is wrong?? Thanks
Had that problem on a power steering car. The rack was worn and binding on left turns. It over-worked the pump and killed the engine on severe or quick lefts. Guess that wouldn't matter about the fuel level though!
I had a 280ZX that would die completely on a hard left turn... Turns out the battery wasn't held down and it would ground out when it rocked the positive terminal against the hood.
Some older GMs had a swtch on the rack that bumped the idle speed when turning at slow speeds. If they went bad they would lower the idle instead
It doesn't have any problem at all when the tank is full. I just filled up today and took the same turns and it didn't die.
