i like the scene where they find the old KITT in the garage and you can see that POS chevy TBI under the hood

wasnt kit supposed to be powered by a nuclear reactor or some futuristic 1980's future tech like that?

still havent figured out how to get myspace vids to play on this site but if you click the title at the top of the box it'll link you to the page

The original KITT was powered by a turbine engine running a special fuel. Thats why you never saw him pulling into a gas station. At the end of the shows history KITT was totalled and it was repowered with a hi perf engine and given streamlining gadgets that popped out of the sheet metal and slowed the car down.

I'm sorry, I love my Ford, but it is WRONG for KITT not to be a Trans-Am.

That's actually TPI - Tuned Port Injection. L98 if it's a 350, LB9 if 305. I wouldn't really call either of them a POS. TBI looks more like a carb. What's strange to me about that though, is KITT was an '82 Trans-Am and TPI didn't happen until '85. That car would have had "Cross-Fire Injection" at best, (now THAT was POS) and more likely a carbed 305.

Aren't you a closet GM guy? You should know this stuff! :smash:
