I may be able to get a set of 235/55zr17 pirellis of an '05 Mustang GT for free, and I had two questions to ask.

    1. Will these tires fit with the right size wheels?

    2. Can anyone who has pictures of mavs with 17's post pictures, because I'm not sure if that is too big for a Mav or not.

    Thanks,
    Ford Guy

    1) yes
    2) there are several mavs with 17's in the gallery.
no, 17's are not too big (my opinion)

Would 17x8" with 4.5" backspacing work, or is that too much backspacing?

4.5 is too much 4.25 is pushing it. go with 4

Those tires are too tall for a Maverick. You need like 45 series...

    they will fit it

will just look funny... 235/55-17s are about 27 inches tall. a 50 is more like it... for the rear at a bit more the 26 inches tall.

    Please help!

Do you know if a 17x8 will fit in front? (i hadn't bought em yet so backspacing isnt the problem yet) and 17x9.5 will fit in the back????

Also, can you tell me the tire size for these rims you recomend? if you can help Ill thank you so much... by the way which is the widest tires I can use with the rear rims?:thumbs2:

    Thanks a lot:Handshake

you can put what ever you what on it but it won't look right ;)

IMO 17x8 will not fit without either the tire hitting the outer fender with a lip or the upper control arm. now if the car is rasied up high it probably will work... but who in their right mind wouldn't lower a maverick with 17s on it.

the 17x9.5 too big. 17x9 yes with a 4 inch bs but you will need to find the right size tire and i think if i recall only a few companies made the right size... at least that is the way it was for the 18's and they weren't cheap.

i would roll all fenders as well.

    other suggestions here......
