Unbelieveable! :49: Does your pop realize that outside of a few, he has a veritable gold mine sitting there? I could easily envision some auctioneer licking his chops at this collection. What does he intend to do with all that iron? Outside of this, the biggest personal collection of cars just sitting I know of myself is a guy out West that has a field full of Mopar copcars of several types. He was going to start selling them off, but reconsidered for some unknown reason. This takes 'sentimental reasons' to a whole new level.

I`d jump on that but I might be getting laid off at the end of the month , if not then its only a matter of time.

I was asking about the TV cable because my T-bird had an AOD with the TV cable. The tranny was toast because the little lever on the tranny that the cable hooks up to got worn out so everything wasn`t ajusted right. I`ve heard of a couple other AODs going out that way so I thought I`d warn ya. If you do run the AOD it would prolly be a good idea to take the little lever off (I don`t know what its realy called) and grease it up real good.

Yea, he knows what he has. They are all for sale and have been for years. You see, the problem is he watches Barret Jackson. Need I say more? Right now they are all restoreable, but another 10 or 15 years in that field and they will all be parts cars at best. It's a long story how they ended up going from garaged show winners in Atlanta, to sitting in a field in the middle of nowhere..

The black and silver '71 Boss 351 will be pulled out and saved this summer. It's going to be my cousin's first car...

The Boss 429 was in very nice condition up until my uncle's house caught fire a couple of months ago. We were planning to take it to some shows this summer, includeing the up and comeing Fun Ford Weekend in Commerce. So much for that.

Wait, so what you are saying is that there are 2 diffrent pumps, one in the tank and one elsewhere? If so, where is the one outside of the tank? I don't hear any fuel pumps running at all, and if there are two diffrent pumps I wonder if it's a matter of power not getting to them? Surely they wouldn't both go out at the same time? Do you know if they are on a relay or fuse? Would the '88 Mercury Grand Marquis with the standard 5.0 EFI be the same way?

Most Ford cars that I know of used dual pumps...up to about '85 or so. My '85 LX has dual pumps, and so does a buddy's '85 TC. My old SVO had dual pumps.....

the in tank pump is a low pressure pump. The external pump is the high pressure pump...and is usually located back on the pass. side frame rail just ahead of the rear axle. Pretty easy to spot because there is usually a fuel filter in the same area.

If both of them aren't running, chances are that the inertia switch has been tripped. I think they're in the trunk...but it differs model to model. Most Mustangs are in the trunk/hatch area and have a reset button. I believe the Thunderturd inertia switches are also in the trunk. There is also a fuel pump relay up under the hood. Pop the hood and on a quiet night have someone turn the key on...you should hear the relay click, and click again in about 3 seconds.

Yea, that much I knew, but I didn't have a V8 Duraspark distributor laying around so I needed to get it running with the fuel injection ignition system. Thanks though.

Do you still have said cars? Or rather, or the cars still in a field?

I will say that we still have the cars. The more valuable/rare ones have been moved, I will not discuss the location.

    Uh oh...problems?
Last year, someone stole aluminum wheels off a junk Corsica I have. They were junk wheels - they must have stole them for scrap money. Luckily they weren't interested in any Maverick stuff.

After my uncle's house burned down, far to many local people became aware of just what was sitting around. This brought an influx of people who came and "just wanted to look around". I think not.

...yeah...right :16suspect "look around" - so they didn't have to fumble around in the dark later that night when they came back to "get a few things out of your way".

We had something like that happen to our neighbor. Someone broke the windows on his car and stole his sound system. We think he may have been drunk 'cause he tried to carry it off by hand, found it was too heavy, and hid it in the bushes in our neighbors yard on the other side of our house, and brought back his escape vehicle. a riding mower with a trailer! My mom worked a job where she got home about 1:00 in the morning, and her and her sister ended up id'ing the guy, and it was our old bus driver's grandson.
