Bought a century duel mig 110 gas. It was set up for flux when i got it and it welded like $hit so i bit the bullit and got a tank with argon. What do i set the regulator on ? Right now it spits when you first start but then smooths out. So welding thin stuff is out of the question. Any advice ???? thanks
about 18. I have it set at 4 on heat and 2 on wire speed that seems to be the best so far. Maybe i just need some practice on the thin stuff...............
You may want to turn the heat down a bit for thin stuff.Make sure you are getting 18 psi when you pull the trigger(psi tends to drop off a bit when you pull the trigger). If not turn the regulator up so it pushes 18 psi when you pull the trigger.
lol if i new how to post pic of my welder i would now how to put more pic of my car on..............................im computer stupid
With my Hobart on 4 I can weld quarter inch plate all day long.but I agree with lance put up a pic of the dials so we can see what your working with.
havent checked regulator on the change when i pull the trigger but ive been lower on heat and it pops more but im no expert eather.........
Do you know what the current level is for each setting.Example... 1= 80 amps 2= 110 amps and so on...
When you say it "pops" does it blow a hole in your work? or does the gun pop when you pull the trigger??
To weld sheet metal with my Lincon I put the heat on 2 and wire feed about 2.75 and 20 psi gas. Be sure the metal is good and clean...no rust or paint.
