sprint color 9A Hello Group, I'm working on painting a Pinto to Sprint color. I bought a Qt. of 9A and it looks like cream not white. What is the deal?? Any help would definately be COOL!!! From Pintony
All the Sprints were 9A or Wimbeldon White, which is an off white. It doesn't look bad until you get it next to a true white. When I repainted mine, I used the brightest white I could find. I think it looks much better.
Sprint color Hello Mavaholic, Thank you for your reply. I think I will do the same. I'm thinking Polar White a 1994-97 Ford truck color??? From Pintony
Hello Mavaholic, What did you used for the red and blue?? I'm thinking Grabber Blue. If you painted the red? What color did you use? Again Thank You for any advice you may provide. From Pintony
Sprint- JS McDonald show Here is my progress on the Sprint Pinto I am building... http://www.fordpinto.com/smf/index.php/topic,6142.60.html Hopefully the members here will not mind me posting this... If so? Please delete... Was Great to see the Maverics got their own catigory at the J.S. McDonald show this year!!! Kuhn's Maverick Was all painted and there was a GREAT turnout for the Mavericks!!! I should have took the time to go over and introduce myself but was hot as usual and had the wifey with so I was a good boy... At least she drove a Pinto so I could have more than 1 of my rides at the show. Hope to see you all next year... Please notify me if there are any all Ford shows in the St louis area too!!! From Pintony
Cool! Thanks for the link!!! Did you know that when Pinto's were being desinged they were called the "Special Maverick"?? I have books from St.Thomas Assembly that refers to them as that.
Great work. Did you ever get your answer for the blue and red? Just in case you didn't, Grabber blue is correct for the blue. All my red is 3M pin stripping tape. Part # 72604 for a 150ft roll or 70304 for a 40ft roll.
Thanks for the info Mavaholic!!! I'm spraying my Sprint Pinto Basecoat Clearcoat so my color will be under the clear. I will need to find a sutible red paint for my Pinto.
I was at the show. I should have stopped by. The Gateway Falcon Club has an All-Ford show at First Capitol 4 Wheel Drive in St. Charles in September. I believe it is on the 14th this year If it is, I know I will be at the Street Machine Nationals in Springfield, MO, but I am sure Dan Kuhn will be their wih his Very Green Maverick.
Hello Maverick Group, It has been a momet or two since I last posted. I stopped in to see how everyone is doing. Please remember to contact me about any Ford show where you plan to attend for 2011 I will be attending the Knottsberry show again for 2011 with my 1972 Blue Pinto wagon. 2011 is the 40th anniversary for the Pinto. A BIG celebration is planned for the show at Carlisle. I'm still not sure what Pinto I'm bringing. Hope to meet upwith a few Maverick guys in the upcoming season. Later... From Pintony
