every time i used to pass by this vacant lot i always tought they were datsun/nissan Z's but the other day i actually looked at them and they're two bricklins SV1's they have been here for as long as i've lived how much would they be worth? unrestored heres a cell pic the other ones in the back
I don't have any of the answers you seek. However, I was a kid when these cars came out and remember them very well. There was some sort of minor scandal involved with them and I remember crushing accusations of them being unsafe on TV news shows. 351w car... Know that for sure.
Google is our friend! There were 3000 built. Here is the link. I am going there to read now.... http://www.bricklin.org/
There were 780 produced in 1974 with a 220bhp AMC 360cid V-8. Because of short engine supply from AMC, in 1975 a switch was made to the 175bhp Ford 351W V-8. I remember seeing an episode of CHOP CUT REBUILD where they were restoring one and they talked about the engine switch ..
According to the registry on that site, there are 6 Bricklins in Riverside Kali. More in Riverside than most countries! (outside the U.S.) Also, there are only 10 unaccounted for from the way I read it. 2800 or so built, but there was apparently several built from parts after the company failed. So the VINs approach 3000. Wow! 200 cars built from parts?!?
The red one is a Bricklin, the white one looks like a toyota celica. On Chop Cut Rebuild they said the Bricklin is going to make a come back...
Early Supras were called "Celica Supra," and the main difference between the two were the straight-six in the Supra instead of the standard Celica four-cylinder. (truck engine - 20R, 22RE, etc.) And the Supra was a little longer in the front - different fenders, grille, hood... Mostly the same car though.
were working on a late 80's supra at school. dont look like that at all definatly not a celica either. ccr did do a really nice bricklin, i never knew a thing about them before that. one poped up on craigslist about 200 miles away last year, price was 10k i think
me too, i did see a really nice one on the street one time, it was a dark blue with staggered centerline wheels and tires.
Cool i never knew that, i've only seen 3, but riverside is a huge city and in some neighborhoods each house has at least 1 pre 80's car. Its one of the things i like about this city.
