saw something rare...(to me)

    a guy brought an exhaust manifold into Harolds shop yesterday to get it welded.
    it was an exhaust manifold off a '64 Ford. 429 ci. the wild thing about it was, it was a ...cast iron...long tube header...they came stock only on the '63-'64 429s.this thing must have weighed 50# (just 1)
    someone, for some reason, ground a hole in the top of the rear tube...:huh:
    Harold recomended he take it to the machine shop we use. they weld cracked heads and manifolds.(y)
    i should have gotten a pic. :(

    Sure that wasn't a 427 header? I don't think they came out with the 429 until 69 or 70.......

    i'm not a Ford guy, i was going by what i thought i understood him to say...:hmmm:
