Hmmm, thought he was gonna assemble and paint it whole, but guess not. I asked and he assured me it would all match. Fenders today, outer hood and deck lids tomorrow, along with a wetsand of the shell. Chromer called and said my bumpers are heading back, I'll post a review in that thread. Russ
I painted my car the same way...all in pieces, then reassembled. You just have to be extremely careful or you will chip the paint somewhere. I used lots of tape to cover edges to prevent chipping and didn't have the first chip. He'll just have to be very patient and have a helping hand...that's the main thing. I'm sure he has painted a few like this and knows what he is doing based on the pics so far. You're going to have a helluva nice car when you get finished.
I'll keep you posted on the final, his stuff is usually in the 4k - 5k range... Not too bad for teardown, cleanup, paint, cut & buff, and reassembly. I did a lot of the chassis work, but he also did the mini-tubs for me. Russ
well 4-5K is a steal, that's a great deal for as nice of a job that he seems to be doing. Can't wait to see the final.
how much time you think it'll take you to put all that stuff back together, like the engine, the rear end, the wiring, the dash and all that? seems like a ton of work but I guess you tore it down so it's only hald the battle now.
You had to say it... Well, since I only have the fenders left to remove, why not. If they turn out like Russ's then time to rethink. Russ, are you painting the bolt heads before assymblies? Or are you?
Looks Flawless what kind of hood scoop is that, is it a cougar type? looks like a mini-boss 429 scoop
