im gonna put the 16in rims from my brother on my car after all. i know i'll need to change the gear in the speedometer, what tooth number do i need to get?
The rim size doesn't affect anything. It is changing of the overall diameter of the tire that requires calibration. If the total diameter of the tires on the 16" rims is about the same as the total diameter of the tires on the stock rims, no problemo... If you get the tires mounted and measured, and they are not close in size, then there are charts on some tranny websites. David Kee Toploaders website comes to mind. I think they have a chart on manual tranny gears. If you have a C4, that site won't do. I can't think of one off the top of my head, but they are out there. I have studied them before.
thanks, what about spacers, are there spacific ones that are made for our cars, the rims that im putting are of an 04' 35th aniversary stang, i think tha dates right i'll ask my big bro to be sure though.
They're just billet "doughnuts" with 5x4.5" bolt pattern and lug studs on them, not sure of the brand. Wheel shops would have them, so does eBay.
