94 GT convertible to be exact. 5.0 auto teal green, black top, charcoal interior 70k miles BONE STOCK (Roush 'decorative' roll bar and aftermarket head unit) The owner wants to trade for the Sprint. I wish it was a 91-92 5.0 LX hatch... I would be telling you about the swap right now, rather than just thinking about it. Thoughts, suggestions? What do you know about the 'Jellybean' 5.0s? Do you hate the 80s teal green as much as I do?
what do you plan on doing with it? for a DD they drive nice not ruff like a fox but nice and soft they handle real good stop real good but they are not that fast 3600lb my wife has 1995 cobra and it makes a great DD as stated most fox gofast parts work on it i guess it all is up to the value that you place on your car if it a good trade or not dont know much on your sprint but if you have a extra mav i will do it brad
Like Bradleygt said, they drive nice for a DD. Don't expect to set any records with it at the track. Stock, they are a dog. I wouldn't get another. They were the mostly forgotten years. If you look at some catalogs, they seem to be skipped over a lot. If I had to do it over again, I would wait for the right 91-92.
had a '90 LX, '97 coupe, '94 Cobra and totalled a black '94 GT myself.... miss that black car every day and will buy another when the right one comes across. i like them, not a big power house but fun to drive and makes a great DD. i guess it all boils down to what u want and if u would be happy with it vs. the sprint
If you're a tall guy they don't have as much leg room as the 79-93 cars. Why Ford chose to make the car bigger, and the interior smaller is beyond me.Other than that I like 'em.
I would have a tough time trading a sprint or anything special for a run of the mill sn95 or any other mustang for that matter, but it's just me
Would make a great daily driver. They are extremely reliable as long as they are maintained well and not driven super hard. Put a set of 3.73's in the rear and a cold air intake, and it will wake it up pretty good, good enough to beat on a few Civics every now and then or what have you, certainly no speed demon though. My dad's '95 GT is in the 270,000 range, the engine has never had so much as a valve cover bolt removed since it left the factory. His has been through a couple of T5's, because it has been rode pretty hard over the years, and burns about a quart of oil every 2k miles, but it hasn't really been maintained super well, either. For what his car has been through, it's done exceptionally well, and still looks great. Hard to beat a tried and true 5.0 Mustang for reliability. If you want it for a DD, go for it. If you're thinking about trading just for the heck of trading, I wouldn't. That Sprint has a 4 speed in it and everything, don't it?
