That's actually one of Ray's cars (my car's painter), it's got a 509 BBC but the car is set up more for cruising than strip. His neighbor lets him park there while he's shuffling cars around. He's also got a '48 Crosley rat rod... Russ
Man that car is awesome. Any idea how far you could drop the car before rear tire clearance becomes an issue?
Rear tire clearance won't ever be an issue, but the stance will stay as-is. The closest to an "issue" will be the rear drivehaft hoop and the oilpan. I'm gonna keep it looking early '70's style. I was in Grand Rapids, MI in the early 70's and saw a few Mav's there that I've never forgotten... Russ
I *think* he used Rustoleum semi-flat for the interior. If I were doing it myself, I'd have used TCPGlobal's Hot Rod Flatz (it's catalyzed urethane as opposed to regular enamel). I've used it and can vouch for it's durability Russ
scoop Yeah agreed, didn't know if I was going to change to the grabber hood but now I'm not , will buy a scoop!!!
It's a (glass) replica Boss 429 scoop I got off E-Bay for $79. It came with six mounting studs to bolt it down. It fit fairly close (but not close enough to use the studs only) so we glued it down with 3M body adhesive and molded it in. Can't remember the seller and the auction has since timed out, but he's always on there with a variety of scoops. Should be easy to find... Russ
