I have been looking for some cool NOS 70's tires for a while and finally found some. I know that old bias ply tires are not the best but I am really going for a throw back 70's look. I have some fronts on the way but they are not the same tire. I hope to find the matching fronts one day but these took me a while to find. The are L60-14 and on the front I am running G78-14.

They look cool but I don't know how much i would trust tires of there age at interstate speed.

check with coker tire http://www.cokertire.com/. they are always adding more choices and the tires are brand new and safe. a 30 year old tire is very unsafe. i would only use those to drive to a local car show and not exceed 30 mph.

I used to have some of them! On a 70 Challanger... They were bad ass looking. Still are...

Back in the day, those tires were recalled from Firestone for being unsafe. I would throw caution to the wind and use for "show" only...

Thanks for the info on the tires everyone. I have decided to run tubes in them to decrease risks but I am going to run them. I will never be driving the car daily and understand my risks, but until I can find some other vintage styled L60-14 that is just how it will be. Hopefully coker tire will reproduce some of the bigger aftermarket tires one day. There is probably not enough market to justfy that though. Most guys want to run modern radials when they run big tires. Totally understandable but not what I want. Cross your fingers that I don't regret this decision.

Take plenty of pics just in case... I wish I had taken some of the L88 hood I once had.

These were much cheaper than buying new tires this size of any brand. For less than $200 I got all four tires shipped to my house. They are all NOS tires in great shape despite their age. I realize tires go bad over time just sitting, but I really wanted vintage looking tires. To me it makes a big difference in appearance. As soon as I can get them mounted and on the car I will post pictures. I am laid up in bed pretty much for the next few weeks following my surgery.

Oh dang, wishin you a speedy recovery!
As far as the tires go.. I TOTALLY wanted that look.. I paid 189 for the pair mounted and whatnot(actually have a long story about why it shoulda been 140) I DO have some G78s sittin in the backyard on some early 90s wheels(looks lame but hey, gotta work with what ya got lol) Can't wait to see the pics!
