I am graduating next month and will go to work. I am wanting to get a late model car. I am thinking about a 94 or 95 mustang with a 5.0. I also want something with ac. My maverick and F-100 have black interior and no ac so you roast in the summer. That is my favorite style of mustang and I am set on a 5.0. I am wondering what yalls opinions on it are. This car will be a daily driver and not hotrodded much
They are great cars. My dad has a '95 GT that is nearing on 300,000 miles. Engine is totally original and never been touched, burns a little oil but still runs great. Take care of it and don't beat on it too much, and it will last you for a long while.
We have a 94 5.0. It's a good little car. One thing that is annoying is that the aftermarket has pretty much overlooked the 94-95 5.0. Everything available seems to be for an 87-93 or 96-up. Of course some of those overlap, like 5.0 parts from the earlier ones, or body parts from the later ones, but there are quite a few parts or mods that are unique. One thing is for sure, I always imagined 5.0 Stangs as being fast. They're not. If you have ever seen a truly fast 5.0, it has had a TON of money dumped into it. So that makes it even more challenging to mod a 94-95, if you want a fast car. For a DD, they are awesome.
Oh, the lack of a cup holder on the 94-95 will drive you nuts! You can get a 96+ console with cup holder, but the interior colors changed slightly, so you end up having to paint the console to match.
the only mustang I've ridden in is my cousins 93 Gt with a basically stock 5.0 5 speed. It felt pretty fast to me and plenty of power for a daily driver
I had a 95 5.0 Cobra for a Daily driver I loved it! Had to sell it because of snow and being a 2 door was too small for us "family"
There are 3 very big problems with that... 1: It can only hold a soda can. 2: It is inconvienent has hell. (and flimsy) 3: It drips condensation on the fog lamp and convertible top switches, ruining them. I have that one too, but I don't use it. I rarely drink can soda. It won't hold even a bottled water, much less a fast food fountain drink. I just picked up a 98 console. It has large cup holders where the ash tray would be. It also has a very convienent power port. The only thing is that after 95, they didn't have true black interiors. So my console is charcoal gray, which is a huge difference when placed with black. So I have to color it.
Oh, well I don't know how well it works, just know it's there. No food or drinks allowed in that car.
had a '94 GT and a '95 Cobra and enjoyed them both. love the body and if u find a good one then keep it. they're getting harder and harder to find in good condition
I have to disagree I know of quite a few 5.0s car running 12s (Lxs) with a gear swap, and a cam sawp. Thats not bad for a factory car otherwise....Lets be honest back in the day most of the muscle cars barely did that.....
gotta hate it when it seems people overlook the best year of a car and its one of those one-two year styles. like the 67 chevys, like my dads and my uncles. love those cars, but not so much for the -66 or 68- . so we feel your pains there. as for the stangs, i don't much care for the year models, (but pretty much anything after '80 fails to hold my interest.) but as a daily driver, why not? they aren't too old, not too big and bulky for everyday convinient use, got a bit of a punch... kinda like the mavs, only newer... and a stang. the important thing though, is what you think of it. should make a nice dd with a little pep.
