My brother-in-law has one of these. It's fun to drive, but parts are expensive.

Loses oil pressure after it warms up? Sounds like a bearing problem to me. I wouldn't do it unless I had an engine lined up just in case.

You can find a great daily driver Maverick/Comet out there for that price. I think I saw where Mavaholic had one with a/c and all for $3500 in great shape. I certainly would pass and look elsewhere.

Definitely pass. There are much better deals to be had out there. Those are neat little cars (real neat interior), but from what I've seen and heard, it seems like they are very prone to problems. My cousin just bought a decent looking, perfectly running and driving '95 Mustang GT with a low mileage 5.0/5 speed in it (body has 198k, engine and trans 60k) and ford racing aluminum drive shaft for $2,400.

Mitsubushi makes some good engines, I had a Plymouth Voyager van that had one of the 4 cyls in it. I rebuilt it at about 115,000 miles, it still had the crosshatch pattern in the cylinders. If it has just been rebuilt like the guy says, then somebody didn't do something right...wrong sized bearings probably. And since it is a V6, I'd bet the parts could get pricey fast....I think I'd pass unless I had a good engine in a bad body to swap into it.
