***Aside from my 71 mercury comet gt which is almost done I also have this 1964 ford sprint which is now complete, finally. Both cars have been in the process of being restored for about 4 years now. I made the decision to finish the sprint first. I also want to say that this site has helped me on various issues. Thanks again. The 64 is sweet looking and sounding, what yah got in it for a motor? We need to see more pics of the GT
Here is a pic of the comet without ***Here is a pic of the comet without the gt striping. I've got a manifold gasket leak and so that is being taken care of as we speak. The motor in the comet is a 289. However, I am going to put a 351 in her eventually down the road. ***The falcon has a professionally built solid lifter 408 stroker with cutouts. To say the least it is scary fast and will run in the 10's. It also has a built racing c-4 reverse manual valve body with a Heidt's four link system/coil overs and 235/45-17 tires. In fact, the other day I just put on some new yokoamah nevia aod8 cheater slicks (which just came out in my size a couple of months ago) on her which I can't believe gives me excellent traction. Before all I was doing was spinning the wheels. This car will run in the 10's and is a perfect sleeper except I'm not fooling anybody by the sound or the 260 badges. I'm still thinking about the hot august nights show which I have been there before but without a car. Thanks for the kind words. Btw, the sprint has a 9" rear end, 31 spline and 310 gears. This car is a bear on the freeway racing vettes, vipers etc. I also have a set of 355 gears as well. james comet/falcon
Great looking cars! I've always loved the Falcon Sprints and have been tempted many times to buy a '63 1/2 one. Congrats on a job well done. Jim
