Woops!! I stand corrected. After looking at this pic...the long bracket is for a package tray. [/QUOTE] Ain't my Mav...but I do have a pic of the bracket in Frank's '73 Grabber
Looks like a bracket on top of another. I guess I need to get this thing in then worry about the tray.
After you bolt the dash in, the brackets are mounted to the bottom of the dash at the end (near the kick panels) and also the body (next to the door). Then the tray simply sits on top of the bracket and is bolted to the brackets with four fender style bolts.
Here ya go Gene... first pic is the center bracket atteched to the tray.sheet metal screw attaches it to underside of dash lip. Second pic is the bracket that attaches to the bottom of the tray(tray sits on top of these.2 sheetmetal screws attach the tray here. Same same different angle Bracket in location on underside of the dash 3 bolts here medium fine thread.Hope this helps you out Gene.If not I can try and get a few pics of the one installed in the sprint.
Wish I could find the pic of it when we were making the deal on it. THAT would be the "start". It was black on black. Looked like someone had tried to tape the chrome strips instead of taking them off, which is easier than taping them.
Thanks for all the info and pics guys. I think I got it now. Definetly need to put the main dash in first. Have any of you done this swap? 73 to earlier? I am wondering if the wiper switch to harness will plug in, it doesn't fit the face hole that's for sure.
The vertical portion that makes up the back wall of the shelf...contrasting color or maybe even blacked out to make the bottom "pop".
