Hey guys, I have these tires, 235/50 R18 tires on my Mustang, any ideal what tire pressure I should be running them on? :) The rims and tires are off of an 06 GT, they are the 5 spoke bullitt rims.

    Thanks,

    Anna

The manufacturers air pressure range should be imprinted right there on the sidewall of the tire. I would stay in the lower half of the range.

Tire says "Max pressure 44 psi", and door pillar says 35 psi for stock tires. Stock were 215/65r16.

Would the recommended pressure change if completely different tires and rims are put on?

The rims are the 18" 5 spoke bullitt rims, so they are more low profile.

Thanks guys. Anna did 35, but I came back around and upped it to 37. I like to run them just a bit stiff for better steering and gas mileage.

Why 40? (i know, we are nickel and diming for 3 psi...;))

What justification for 40 over 37?

I am not trying to be a smarta$$, just curious. We have never owned anything with this tall of a rim and low profile tire so this is a learning experience for us.

3 psi is probly not going to make a diff,I like to run my tires within 3-4 psi of max for best milage.

Do they continue to wear evenly at 4-below max?

I have always run 3 or 4 above recommended on the pillar, for the same reasons you suggest.

Ive not seen any uneven wear by doing this.

Asked the dealer, and he said run the same pressure as on the pillar, but he recommended going about 40, also, for same reasons we have all said. He said just keep 4 or 6 under the max for best fuel economy.
