    what are these originally from? id like to get new center peices but dont know what to look for. thanks

    Yup thats a magnum 500 center cap.Looks like the center merc emblem is dead though.Try looking in a mercury cougar catalogue...You should be able to get re-pops.If all else fails try AKH wheels(thats where I got my nos ones for the Sprint)

    your right Pete, they have a mercury crest in the middle. i just pulled it off and it has a d6oa-1a096-aa part number. here's a closer pic...

    1972 Maverick Grabber - Color: Orange Also, 1976 Ford Maverick 4-door, 1977 Mercury Comet 2-door.
    Looks like the Ford crest that came on all the Magnum 500 and Styled steel wheels. Suppose to be red in the center. My 1977 Comet has them as well.....so Mercury must have used them as well. The Maverick center cap decals I sell fit them perfectly.

    cool. thanks for the info. if i had four "housings", i'd really like to put the maverick decals in them but out of 4 wheels i only have one cap :(

    You can find used caps at swap meets. I have a bunch I have bought that way. One here.....two there.....etc.

    you could always send me "one here..... two there....." and that would make the three that i need for a set :D

    Sounds like Craig is your man Dave.Now...wasnt someone here on the forum selling merc crested decals like the Maverick ones Craig has????:hmmm:

    Auto Krafters did sell these im not sure if they still do. Ebay has them sometimes also.
