I'm getting close to putting a stereo and speakers in my car and I was wondering where would be a good spot for the front speakers ?
pull off your front kick panels and there should be a spot where you could mount one. im not totally sure about other years but my 73 had them
it's a pita, but you can reach it without removing the dash... a 5x7" dual voice coil speaker (custom autosound carries one) is generally considered a good choice for that location. i have one in my mustang, and even in a convertibe, it is of good quality.
Ok I just went outside to see if I could see the speaker you were talking about and the speaker that looks to at one point be in the dash is laying in my back seat and i couldnt see where it could mount at ???
My 72 has speaker holes in the kick panels also. I would think 2 i the kick panels and two in the rear window would sound pretty good. That is what I plan on doing. clint
I took two 3'' speakers and made a bracket for the front factory location under the dash. sounds pretty good.
Yep, a 5 X 7 inch one in the center of the dash. The picture below shows the mounting bracket and was found in this post: http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=59086 Hope this helps, -Scott H.
