For some reason i want a matching maverick and pinto.. WHat year should i be looking for i want it to have maverick tail-lights. Small bumper.. What years were pintos produced? There is a pinto near me and i want it gonna ask for a price tomorrow probably.
Pintos 1973Maverick357 I don’t blame you one bit for wanting a matching Maverick and Pinto, I wouldn’t mind that combo or Comet & Maverick I had some pics of a turbo Pinto wagon at a junkyard in my town for $800.00 I think I also had the wrong number to call. I went back recently the snows melted long ago and took new pics I’ll try to post them tomorrow after work.
There is plate that could be installed in the gas tank area. My Sprint has one, so I guess the only Exploder I own is my Explorer, not the Pinto! Do a Google on Pinto. It will bring up the PCA(Pinto Club of America) website. Good site if you want to see and find out about Pintos. Pintos are surprisingly a neat car to drive with the rack and pinion. Mine has disc brakes, too. Later models came with V6's too. Jim
Just before I came across and bought my Maverick I was trying to buy a Pinto with a V8 and 4 speed from somewhere in Minnesota (I think). I understand they can be a hairy ride depending on the engine build. Bruce
Hell ram a 71 Impala up a Mavericks ass at any kind of speed its gonna blow up too.Plus that Pinto had some good Leaded fuel in it not the crap they sell today.Heck todays gas could put out a fire.
Pintos came out in 1971 and ran through, I believe 1980. The small bumper versions were, like Mavericks, '71 & '72. They made Sprints in '72 and Stallions in'76, both years in Stang, Mav, and Pinto. I have the Sprint version. I have never seen a Stallion one. They also made a neat cruising wagon with a porthole in the later years. They were the first Ford to have rack and pinion. Three years later, the Mustang II got it, too. Many pintos and II's have been scrapped to get the steering for all kinds of hot rods and steering conversions. Neat steering setup. Good luck with your pursuit. Don't let others discourage you or talk down to you. Remember, you gotta have a dream to make a dream come true!! Jim
park it and use it as a prop to park your maverick by? just kidding. a pinto would be a neat little car to cruise around in. and i bet nobody who was around when all that pinto splosion hype went on will be tailgating you. get a bumper sticker with a bullseye and the words "gas tank" over the target and "here" under it. that might scare a few more back. and if you get a comet you can get a bobcat and take a pic of all four sitting next to each other.
They don't quite match but they both are 72's and have the same tail lights I love them both. http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=46396
