anyone know if it would have 28 or 31 splines axles? i ran across one and plan to buy it. it came factory with a 240 and was 3 on the tree, but now has a 302 in it's place with Maverick exhaust manifolds on it :16suspect... the rear is a 9" with 3.70 gears but was curious about the axle splines.
more then likely it is 28 spline and an open rear. 4x4,400m,and 460 trucks are were you will find 31's Ive got a set f/s if you know anyone looking
cool. thanks for the info. dont really know of anyone looking for parts, but ill find someone cause when i get this truck.... im parting it out
you need three more then so you can build one and part the other two.... when you get them i need door panels for a 73
Trust me, there are just as many people (if not more) looking for dent side F-100 parts as there are people looking for Comet / Maverick parts. If you can't find people local or on the forums that want them, eBay that sucker! It wouldn't happen to have a good hood would it??? I'm still seriously considering doing the Grabber scoop conversion on one if I can find the usable parts to do it. -Scott H.

I have always heard this story.
well im going to go pick it up Friday so we'll find out then. i know the bed is shot, but the front bumper and grille look decent so it may have a good hood as well. we'll find out im wanting to go ahead and get it home and see if i can get the 302 to run. it's supposed to crank but no fire, so that's easy enough to fix. im not 100% for sure what year it is, but it has the 73-77 grille in it
most truck axles have the holes wether 28 or 31 spline. just food for thought heres a set of truck 28's with 3 holes that I sheared
I'm more of a bump side fan myself. I've got a dent side though I got from Terry. I think it's a '78. Just have to give him back the built 351W that's in it.
im like you. i had a '79 once and would like to have another. they're one of my favorite body style Ford trucks
