I do not have one just a little curious i always here talk of their value. ANd all there from oil pan to air cleaner. How much would a good running one go for? How much would a stuck one go for?
A complete engine could go for anywhere from $5000-$10,000 bucks. Depends on how good it is and if it has the correct carb and distributor. Seriously though, you'd be real lucky if you found one for 5k.
There is a wrecked boss 302 in the next town over im gonna have to go steal it and part it out over the night lol
I may be wrong but I thought he was talking about just the engine. The complete cars are up there. I have seen the pristine ones go for close to $100K. Most of them will bring $40K-$50K easy though.
I heard you can make a boss 302 by taking a 302 shortblock and putting 351c 4v heads on it. If this is true it sure would be cool
If you can find the intake to fit it. There used to be a company that made it but are no longer in business. B&A Performance. I used to have one of the intakes. I never did build the engine. I heard they weren't that great but that didn't mean you couldn't make them great. I'm sure there are a few floating around somewhere. They required the use of 2V Clevand heads.
Same in principal maybe, but you still couldn't call it a Boss 302. It's just a 302 with cleveland heads stuck on it. Real Boss 302's have an exclusive block that is much stronger then any regular 302 block.
Block, heads, intake, all different and unique to itself. The fake boss would only be vaguely similar. Could use boss valve covers.
Up in MO, a guy who's 70 Boss 302 Mustang got crushed when a tornado collapsed his garage, sold the car's engine & trans, complete, original and low milage for $27,000
I sold my 70 Boss 302 Mustang for $15,000 after Katrina put it under water. Of course the car was totally disassembled waiting for me to restore it. I had purchased the car about 15 years ago and it had just been sitting. I had to go ahead and sell it though because it needed someone to jump on it before the salt water ruined it. Oh, and I made $10,000 profit off it. I still should have held out for a little more cash but at the time I needed to move it.
Hey, you made a profit, made someone a good deal, and saved the car. It hurts to let them go, but still, a win/win/win
