found a 97-98 Lincoln Mark VIII in my local boneyard and have been thinking about a radical swap. did some research and with 290 bhp STOCK, that engine should be a screamer. also read that there are only a few minor differences between these engines and the cobra engines (ie. intake cams, heads -mainly in the exhaust ports-).

what do u guys think? is it worth looking into???

Those engines respond well to 'chargers/turbos. I know a racer who put one in a foxbody, a stock engine with a 'charger(about 9psi I think) and it went high 9s. Of course the car was a race car(transbrake/good rear suspension/lightened/etc) but still that's flyin' with stock parts:thumbs2:.

I was just reading an old article from '08 that went inside the worlds quickets mod motor, and he used the block and heads from a Mk8. It made 2500+ horsepower with 52lbs of boost. Granted some work had been done to it, but that just shows their potential. Having said that, they seem like a lot of work for not a lot of power in stock form.
