For those of you who have read anything about my Pinto wagon project, I have often mentioned Gene (Blugene here) as THE GUY who I need to give a WHOLE lot of credit to with how much he has helped me on my car. To date, he has helped with:

    1) Gas tank removal

    2) Front end dismantling and reconstruction

    3) ...and now, helping me pull my aged motor and transmission

Yesterday, I took off work, and Gene met me at the shop where we tackled the task of pulling to motor and tranny out. As a guy who is new to a lot of this stuff, it's been an education, like no other, as I have never seen this done. Gene has been selfless and helpful, and the ultimate restoration of my Pinto will be a result of his help. He put it well yesterday (paraphrasing): "If I kick the bucket, good luck getting it all back together :p.

Please, please guys, do not harm Gene in any way while he is involved in my project. You will be thanked for your avoidance, and rewarded with a clean Pinto at car shows. :thumbs2:

Anyway, cheers to the MAN. For anyone interested, I have included a link showing him hard at work. The thread contains the whole history of my restoration to date, so if you just want to see Gene at work, go down to entry #138 for his efforts. Otherwise, I hope you enjoy the thread and appreciate what I am doing to the Maverick's smaller brethren.

    Chris

Maybe next time i'll take the pics. :p
:idea:Look for a nut in the gravel where the drive shaft was removed from the diff while it was parked halfway out.

If you have an old speaker with a big magnet on it (I use a blown 6X9), it'll work wonders finding lost nuts and bolts in gravel and grass.

I've found that all you have to do is offer Gene a piece of pie and he'll travel all the way to Az. for it.:drive:
