Can anyone point me in the direction of some rims not exceeding $350? Looking for something decent but trying not to break the bank so to speak. Heres what I have: 1976 Blue Maverick 2 dr Sedan Rims are stock with original hubcaps - tires look skinny and aren't what I am going for....Thats where YOU come in... I want bigger rims that are guaranteed a fit all the way around and look nice/beefy with the tires....Open to all suggestions - the sooner I replace these skinny bike tires that are on my car the better.
15" steelie truck rims in back. They are wider than car rims. Paint them black and and add the dog dish caps to the center or go with just chromed nuts. Do the same up front only leave the skinnier 14"ers on it. Sort of like the 69.5 Road Runners. Simple and mean looking. other than that hit the junkyards or Craigslist. I got my Cragars for free from a guy who had them on a Dodge Magnum behind his house.
I got my Cragars 15X8 and 15X7 for $100 all around. Cragars are a dime a dozen, and finding some used and in decent shape is pretty easy. Then slap some BFG T/As on em.
Go to a junkyard and get a set of Explorer or Ranger wheels. They made several different sizes and designs. Then buy the tires that fit like you want....
Won't work. Truck pattern is 5 on 5.5, car is 5 on 4.5. That's fullsize trucks, the rangers are the same as the cars though. And Ford truck wheels aren't any wider unless it's the factory mag type or wagon wheel type. If you want cheap, chrome holy wheels are that, but they rust almost instantly. I like the black Cragar soft 8s or the black d spoke wheels. Chrome smoothies are nice too, you can leave off the hubcap & run some bullet centers/chrome lugs for a retro look. All of these wheels are around $50-60 each new for 15x7s. That only leaves you around $100 for tires, keep a watch on Craigslist for good used tires or good used wheels/tires. There's some good deals on there. Absolute cheapest- ditch your hubcaps, paint the wheels shiny black, get some new chrome lugs and stagger(one size bigger out back)size a new set of white letter tires. Red neckerson to some, but I like the look for cheap.

on the topic of wheels, if your still looking for cragars on craigslist, be sure to try spelling it the wrong way. a lot of times people put up an ad for them but they've spelt it crager instead of cragar you'll see recent ads you've never seen before
I think a set of these Summit Pulsar wheels would look good on a Mav. 15x4 in the front 15x7-15x8 in the back.Done. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-541-5465PS/?image=large
