I vote paint it black and make it a 4-door sleeper

what old Burt Reynolds movie was it where he he drove a sleeper Galaxie/LTD moonshine runner all "souped-up" under the hood and in the suspension, but bone stock looking outside....

Has to be White Lightning or Gator.....I think he jumped it off a boat dock and high-centered it hanging halfway off a river garbage barge.

    Yeah, check the frame. LOL

I think they must of used a whole fleet of those LTD/Galaxies for that movie!

Love the clueless comment under the 2nd vid .....

"It was a 429 Boss motor, 4 speed, rare for a 1971 LTD."

Yeah, can't remember thae last time I saw one of those Boss 429 4-speed LTDs!! :rofl2:

I wasn't being serious, I don't have the space or money right now but it would be a cool car to get me to school and back.

Forgot about the frames. Early 70`s my uncles Ford dealership bought 1 at aucton. white with red sparkle painted vinyl roof! Sharp looking, sold next day! Guy came back in a week, crossed rr tracks and cop behind saw car weaving bad. Cop thought he was drunk! Stone sober! They started looking car over and frame was gone from rearend back! Dealer who brought it to auction bought it back with a nice payoff! Too bad your passing on it!

One of my favorite Fords - in 2 door hardtop form like I had. I liked the floor mounted four-speed with column shift automatic in White Lightning. Burt was usually banging gears but when he stopped at the court house he threw the column shift automatic into park! DOH!

Yeah but I think Burt drove a 71' Gal

Speaking of Burt, this poor 67' got smashed in Smokey And The Bandit.

I like these beacon lights better, they look more period-correct.

You're right. I got carried away with the reference to the White Lighting movie.

No it's okay, I think they're the same chassis and everything, only a restyle.

Those frames are notorious for rust out right under the front door corners, check 'em out on '65-68 full size Fords. '69-up don't have this problem, they're more likely to rust over the rear end.

Reminds me of a black 65 2 door galaxie I almost bought when I was a kid.I was working on a farm and the farmer & my dad both told me I did not want it,it was too much work,I disagreed as I hooked the tractor up to pull it out of the weeds and sunken dirt it broke almost in 2 about the middle of the rockers:hmmm:
