They sure did and so did Chevy on the cowl induction.
Like Dave said that stuff is huge dollars. Friend of mine is looking for the factory air breather set up for his Super Bee. The last one he found was rough and the guy wanted 800 bucks.
IF I was you I'd just run snorkels to the rad support and relocate the battery.

im thinking snorkles are a must at the moment. you tuck that 400 in there and you have to put that battery in the trunk.

If you go the snorkel route, you can keep it "Ford" with some of the set-ups available, mainly for the Thunderbolt/LightningBolt Fairlane/Galaxie crowd, I'm sure you could easily adapt it to a Maverick/Comet

I'm building '64 Galaxie with a dual quad 460, and will be using one of these set-ups for it:

Dual tube snorkel for single 4 barrel and Dual Quads

When are we going to see the pics???????????????????????:D

some of the maverick's came with this actuator thing in the exhaust that was closed with vacuum......you could probably adapt one of those for your hood scoop.

The idea is for the scoop/air grabber to open when the vacuum drops off. Wide open throttle. The vacuum is used to keep the scoop closed. Snorkle setups are much simpler to plumb.
