I might be getting one as a daily driver, probably not one with a 302 but I wish, what's the coolest one you've seen?
83-today I like them both, the 93-97's are really cool though cause you can buy a grabber hood for those.
I was thinking about buying a ranger also but only years 93-today. If i ever find one with a cheap deal i will buy it. I went to jegs and customized one with there wheel selection chart thing.
The primered and the blue one are kinda impractical but the others are sweet, especially the one with magnum 500's
Here's my daughter's daily driver - '95 XLT with the 4 cylinder & automatic. We just bolted in recovered '87 Mustang Gt seats. Bruce
I think tom (Thack) is building one with his son....i cant wait to see that one EDIT: nevermind it's a not a ranger.... http://mmb.maverick.to/showthread.php?t=62655
mod motors are cool as **** and they are very impressive and not that hard to build.....the nastiest n/a 2 valve 4.6l I have seen on a dyno was 490 hp...... it had a custom intakeand I kid you not it gained 70 plus hp just from the intake swap......then again this intake wouldnt fit under any hood.... I cant wait to bolt my 4.6l dohc on the dyno when it's finished....i will hit the 425hp range all motor carnking 7k plus for sure but I wat it to hit a cool 450hp.....but that extra 25 hp is not easy to get once you are in that range.....we shall see
I'd like to do a ranger myself. I think there really cool looking done right. And "Right" doesnt have more than one cam.
Here's my old ranger. Herculined the entire thing on a whim. It was a fun little truck. I'm looking for another one to replace my daily driver. I want a 4cy 5spd so I can cut down on what I'm paying for gas and redirect that money into the Mav.
Iv`e got an 82 Ranger. It`s titled as 83,but was built in Sep of 82. Must be one of the first ones! It`s a 2.3 Originally 4spd,now 5spd. The overdrive trans gets me 32 mpg highway. The only problem Iv`e had with it is electrical stuff. A tip to anyone who works on theirs,is to push all the terminal ends in the plugs in with a small screwdriver or something similar, when you replace the ignition, headlight,or any other plugged in part. The plastic housing deteriorates and the terminals will push partway back. This drove me crazy until I found what it was. Good luck to all on their Rangers, mines been good to me for many years!
