I want to run 275/60-15 tires on the rear of my 72 Maverick Grabber, can I use a 15x8" rim with what backspacing
That's what I run with 4.5 backspace but my rearend is 1" wider than stock. Fits perfect with 1/2" clearance inside and out
so what do you think backspacing I would need to fit the 275/60-15 on my stock 8" rear on my 72 Mavrick Grabber
I think 1/4 inch spacers should set you up pretty good... You may need roll your fender lip a little though.... jmo.. that is what I did................ Oh mine were 4.5 bs now 4.25 with spacers...
Whats so hard about understanding ? I have 15" wheels with 4 1/2 back space I added a 1/4" spacer that added just enough to clear my bump stop brackets.. I rolled the lip just to make sure i didn't rip my side wall...
I just took M&H 275-60-15s off the rear of my Maverick, with stock length rear end, with Weld draglites that had 4 1/2 inner and 3 1/2 outter spacing. I had 5/16 wheel spacers, which gave me 7/16 inch clearnce on the inside and about 1 inch clearance on the outside. The only thing is, when I did a burnout, the tires would stretch just enough for the inner side wall to scrub the inner fender well where it started to curve around. I hope this helps you.
Not all 275-60-15's are the same. My Dunlops didn't rub but the Mickey Thompsons did, the MT's were about an inch wider
