I was at walmart today lookin for a maverick. Then I came across this Falcon. On the back of the card it states this was an Australian car. Is this true? Or is this just a HOT WHEELS thing? It has a few features like the Maverick! Really cool car! ??????????
looks like a cross between a Maverick and a Torino, it's really cool how in some countrys they hold on to the same name like Falcon which from what i see they are still using it!
OOPS I didn't think about GOOGLE. It really is a cool car. Wish they were available in the USA! Just thought I would share this with you guys.
Check this video out from 1983 - A down under Ford Falcon and a 351 Cleveland - what a combo that was in the Super Car series. Watch this quailifing lap and look out for the surprise ending. This is what happens when you "hang it out" just past the ragged edge.
yep gonna grab a vegimite sandwich hop in the Falcon and visit a few blokes in the bush. Aussies got some cool rides like the holdens....
I have that XB Hotwheels. That car appears to have the pop out rear windows from our cars. They still make Ranchero/Elcaminos(Utes) in Aus.
A clip of the aftermath of the Falcon's wreck - same clip in the beginning of video so just go to the 1:42 mark to see what happened after he went into the trees.
XY GTHO phase3 This is the best aussie falcon i think. 1971 XY GTHO phase 3 falcon. 351 and a four speed. they say it was the fastest four door production car in the world at the time, around 150mph and 1/4 mile in low to mid 14s.
Back in 2002, I was looking into using a Watts linkage setup for a paved stock car that I was building. I was watching a lot of the Aussie Supercar Series on ESPN at the time and I learned that most all of these cars used the Watts setup to eliminate rear steer as all of their races were on road courses, turning left and right. I started out emailing the engineer that worked on the Ford Falcons of Craig Loundes. He helped me with some general explainations on how to adjust the Watts but I got quite a different response when I went as far as to ask him for photos of their assembly. He became very protective of how they developed their suspension parts and I guess I crossed the line Never heard from him again
