You might get what you want running a 275/50 (25.5" tall) on a 10 inch wheel, you definately can running a 265/50(24.5"tall) on a 10 inch wheel, but they don't quite look kosher (I know I tried these first) A 275/60 (28" tall)will rub for sure on a 10 inch wheel, unless you jack up the rear and roll the fender lips. My 295/50's(26.5" tall) don't rub at all now, but I rolled the lips and installed helper springs to lift the rear a couple inches. The wheels I have are Wheel Vintiques 68-72 chevy truck rally wheels painted black and have a 5" B/S. (dual bolt pattern to fit the 9")

Im trying to find a good looking tire like a BF Goodrich drag radial but something that isnt so much of a treadwear, like that tire is a 00 BC and thats going to waist way to fast on the street.

Any suggestions on a 275 60 15 that has a good amount of treadwear but also has a nice style to it?

I love the performance and look of my MT ET Street radials. They look great and hook good enough to pop an axle at the track. Got about 30 passes on them plus a good 2000 street miles. Still look great with plenty of rubber left!

Honestly, unless you're going to use the car as a daily commuter, treadwear is the least of your worries. You'll probably find that a 275/60 is too tall and wide to work without doing a few mods.

so can I get away with a 275 60 15 tire or am I gonna have problems with that tire? Is it gonna look to fat on a 8" wheel?

    This is a 275 60 15 on 15X8 wheels...NO problems whatsoever!
