:) okay guys i was at a friends and started to notice his intake.......looked at it for awhile noticing it went out the front end to suck up cold air while driving SO riddle me this why not have two intake pipe's with filters sticking out of the grabber hole's:idea:[IMG]

maybe that same piping but going from the triangle air filter by edelbrock

the grabber scoops are right over the shock towers. if you take them out your looking at the shock mounts. it has been done. ive seen pics. i doubt it will be very effective. i would run a closed air cleaner down to each side of the radiator support. then cut large holes there to feed the ducting. that would be more effective.

I did the Grabber scoop thing on my first Mav. It was a nightmare to get plumbing fit and when your done the intakes are too small. I was young and lesson learned. Had lots of time to waste back them though.
If my car didnt have the hood opened up under the GT scoop I would move the battery to trunk and plumb the air breather to the rad support where the Batt. was.

Because the grabber was merely an appearance package. These cars were never meant to be offered as performance vehicles. They did offer a fresh air option. Which was basically a square looking hose that sucked up air from below and directed it towards the snorkle(sp?) on the intake.

I barely looked at the pic! That looks like a Bseries with a password JDM whale penis intake. Its NOT a cold air intake though, its a short ram and most guys just buy it for the looks or for the sound. Also the filter in the triangle air cleaner that edelbrock offers is Flamable, theyve been known to burn after a good backfire.

so after more consideration and molding im making an intake from the hole's to the triangle air filter using plaster of paris lol i see how small the hole's are now :( but the triangle air filter is the only one that fits cuz of my edelbrock intake carb combo the intake is the high rise alum. so i have room but not that much maybe i'll just form the pipes to push towards the valve covers to cool the area down?

why cant you fit a normal air cleaner on it? I ran a performer 289 with a 1" spacer and i was able to fit a 14x4" KNN xstream under the hood.

spectre performance has some kits that will work for you. they have a carb hat that is low profile. it has two inlets. then you can use there tubing or dryer tubeing going to cone filters located at the radiator support. you can cut large holes in the support and get a good ram air effect this way. check out there site http://www.spectreperformance.com/#CATALOG.728
