Its not just tuners that have intake air problems. How many V8 guys run open element air breathers under the hood? A huge percentage. They suck all that nice hot air off the top of the engine right into the carb. :hmmm: Never been a fan of it.

Most of the old factory breathers have the snorkel. Used for fresh air and the lower opening for hot air from the exhaust manifold to prevent carb icing. Thats what the diapragm controls. The early ones have a manual lever for summer and winter. Man do I feel old.LOL.

wouldnt i want to ditch the box idea it wouldnt get as much air? i was thinking about taking out the front turn signals and cutting 2 hole's through the front wall that the radiator sits on and running the air pipe's to those hole's.... i kinda want the sleepr look so no hood mods basically

See post #19. That is a homemade setup using rain gutter down spouts in the radiator support and flexable duct. If you wanted to spend more money then get the AFX style ram air. http://home.bresnan.net/~dazed/RamAir

The lugs on my 05 F-150 torque to 150 lbs. So probably quite a few.
