cut the exhaust off and changed an air filter, about 250-350 thousand miles.

Driving down the road and the temp is surging from 170 to 240 for about an hour. Slightly after that it stays around 240 and begins to raise little by little. Electric fan (with Shrowed) and heater was on (trying to make it home by lowering the heat)

    Thermostat would be my guess.:hmmm:

more info. Seems to overheat over 30 mph and under 70 mph,

That's all the rest of us can do, as well. Put the exhaust back on that 4 cyl, and do some basic trouble shooting..

Low coolant or not enough antifreeze, those are my guesses.

It could be the thermostat malfunktioning. I would check it first and then maybe the temp sending unit.

If it got that hot you would had smelled, heard and felt something. If it drove fine...then the gauge is telling a lie.

i bet when he gets rid of that chevy the fords will run good // see what it is that chevy keeps telling the ford to get into trouble :naughty:

yah sounds like the thermostat or a air bubble in the system

if its the gauge get one of thoes lil metal thermometers and put it in the coolant when it gets really hot

air bubble in the coling system would be my guess also, 2nd would be thermostat. Just make sure its full of coolant.

I wanted to sound like a ricer!

People i have talked to say that it runs alot better with 1 converter than 2 lol, im putting a glasspack on it. Hopefully it lowers the tone a little bit. Just wanted to do something different.
