Driving home the other day and i got the car a little hot (around 230, i forgot to turn my fan on[IMG])

When the car was hot it started to shut down and would drop about a thousand rpms and then go back to normal. It did this about 5 times before i picked up pizza. I Then went to my friends house bla bla bla and then left. I got about 100 yards down the road and it had the feeling like it was backfiring but it wasn't. It was going onoffonoffonoff until it died about 10 seconds later. Got a tow home and got to working on it. Fuel pump isnt kicking on and no spark. I bypassed the saftey switch in the back and nothing happened. Replaced the relay and nothing. For the spark i replaced the Ignition modual and now im getting power to the coil but no spark out of the coil[IMG] So i switched coils and got the same results.

    Ignition modual replaced
    Fuel pump relay replaced
    eec relay replaced
And im about 85 bucks into this and dont want to waist anymore money. I should have just brought it to a shop but now im kind of stuck.

    Any input please?

Im about to change the whole computer:mad:

did you smack the black box on the passenger strut tower and try to start it? I had to replace that on my wife's car after it left her sit once. I forget the name of it, but it has non-serviceable relays in it.

Forgot to add: She has a 1993 2.3L convertible.

i cant think of how overheating would damage the eletrical systems. the only thing that i can think of is you lost the engine grounds. i dont know much about the 2.3 mustangs but the 5.0s had a ground on the back of a cylinder head. the over heating may have created some carosion in the ground connection. a loss of computer ground can keep it from going into diagnostic mode.
