We have decided that the maverick will become a track only car with a bbf. I have a nice little 351w I built for the maverick. I am planning on finding a 87-93 mustang and swapping the 351w in. I think in a v8 car it should bolt in and the only thing needed should be headers. I am not sure in a 4cylinder car though. I know I would need v8 mounts and possibly a different crossmember. I am just trying to figure out what I will be getting in to. I need something that will get decent mileage so I am thinking aod or hopefully a t5:burnout:

Ok but the BBF would be a much easier swap into the Fox chassis wouldnt it??

The mav is gone but i'm still here!
Hooker sells a kit to swap it in, its basically a mount set and headers. Plus some other odds and ends.
I think he`s swapping in a pinto front suspension on it already. So BB wont be an issue.

its a long story. lol. At 1st I wanted to build a mild pumpgas 351w that would high 7's in the 1/8 and be a driver. I saved and built the engine. I shaved the shocktowers and mangled the headers but couldn't get them to fit unless a couple tubes on the drivers side were flat. I finally just said screw it and decided to mustang 2 clip the car and that is the stage it is at now. When I decided on the mustang 2 clip I also decided that this would be a track only car. Since its a track only car I decided to build a 460 for it. I have always wanted a bada$$ mav on the strip. lol. The 351w swap in a fox body comes from me having built a pretty nice 351w and wanting a street car. lol

It will be bolt in on the 4 cylinder cars as well, just need the mounts, and I believe you'll have to buy an aftermarket oil pan, front sump won't work. The only foxes you have to change the K member to drop a V8 in, are the early 80's cars that came with 200 I6's.

Unless you are looking for increased capassity, you can just buy a stock double sump oil pan for a fox body from a junk yard, or even the classifieds, since they are so abundant. It should be really cheap.(y)
