Its better to be safe than sorry! These cars are almost 40 years old, no two are identical. Some can get away with up to 4.5BS and some can get aways with only 4.25.... I think the 235 will look good on the 7 :)

you are putting a 235 tire on a 15x8 wheel and a 215 on a 15x7? I think you are 1 inch too wide on your wheels, IMHO. With those two tire sizes I would do 15x7 all around, maybe 6 on the front like said before. Good luck and I hope you get the look you are going for.

Yes definitely... I need a friend at a wheel shop so I can mess around with different combos to see what might work though... I don't wanna have to cut metal to get it to work...

On a side note the 235/60s handle a bit better than the 205/75s I had before.

Well Im hoping things work out since I spoke with a guy that works at CJPony Parts, where I'm getting the tires and wheels, that said the wheel and tire combo will work better (no rub issues) and the car will ride better. Again I am hopeful but thanks for your input all the same. Much appreciated. :)

Did you get your wheels and tires yet? I'm curious on how the ones you decided on fit.

No not yet--the site says they are on back order. Im guessing that means they have to put them together and maybe they were out of the tires that I ordered. On a side note, I saw a 67 Stang with the same tires and wheels the other day--looked alright, but the wheel lips/wells are different on Stangs. Nevertheless the tire wheel combo looked alright; again once I get them I will know if I did it right or not. :) Thanks for asking about it. I will get pics out as soon as I get things and get things together. Right now its cold and my garage is not heated--I know I should move South; but where?

We could always use more Mavericks down here in Phoenix area. Housing is cheap but jobs are hard to come by.

If they are backordered its probably the wheels. I used to sell wheels/tires online for a company. The reproduction wheels were always on backorder.

Okay guys have some pics to show you as I just received my wheels. Here is what happened. As you can see I ordered Magnum 500s: 15X7s with 215/60/15s on the front and instead of the 235s talked about in the above on the back (they were on back order) I was able to get 245/60/15s to mount on the 15X8s for the rear. The weather was a bit warmer last eve so I put one side on to see how they fit and of course how they look. Sorry I will have to post a rear stance later. I don't have the rear air shocks hooked up and a bunch of little items done yet. Too darn cold to work in the garage these days. So you and I both will have to wait until spring--sigh. Here are a couple of pictures with the drivers side on. I removed them and put the 14s back on until I finish with all the sanding, polishing and stripe kit work --and the rest. Thanks for looking and feel free to add comments--I enjoy and think about others and their opions. Thanks again guys for all your comments and help. Again Im sure Ill have more.

Look great. But I would see about borrowing a lip roller for the back. With the 8" wheels you are sticking out a little farther than I was with the same size tire. Looks like you will definitely have contact with the wheel lip on a good bump. The roller should help that. Might still hit but not tear up the tire.

Don graham has a roller, not sure if he decided to loan it out or not.
