Im thinking about getting it just because I've never seen one. Body looks fair. Ill share pictures when I get back to my computer. What are yalls opinions? Anyone remember them?

my wife was giving me a hard time because I wanted one of those after seeing a really good example at NOPI. I loved it, she hated it, I don't have one...

    Cool. Looks like this???
Looks like a 911 mated with a Bug and had this little car.

Yes and no. Same body. More rust but not much. Not as nice of wheels. If its there when I go home this weekend I may have some work to do to get up there with that one.

Never though of the 911 bug offspring. It fits.

Yeah the 911 tries not to think about it too. He was black-out drunk when it happened. I'm not sure he even knew about it until he got the call from Montel Williams.

A guy down the street from me has one, it's 100% perfect, he spent 7 years restoring it, people think I'm bad about my car, you should see him. I've never seen him drive it.

I love the Type III squareback and I have since I was a kid. I have no idea why.

We've got a thing that runs around here with a convertable beetle. Not as cool as that one tho.

For $650, I would snag it right up.

I had a 69 super beetle when I was a kid. Fun little 34 hp package. i would do it again if I had the room.

Not nearly as cool at this thing you are looking at!

Was talking with a guy at discount tire that has a vw bug with 700 hp turbocharged beetle with all fiberglass panels, etc. Says he is running 8.9 at the 1/4. Says it only weighs like 1600 lbs.

So even if you don't go over 100-150 hp, you can really have a quick little grocery getter with one of those.

Had a suitcase motor. Believe they were 1600cc motors. I've been following a guy who's putting a ford 2.3 in one. Kind of a toss up but I may go back with the 1600 just because.

There was one of those fastbacks here on Craigslist for a while with a 455 Olds engine stuffed in the back of it using a Toronado transmission. 1,200 bucks.. Car ran and drove, guy said it would pull the front wheels waist high just driving down the street. It took everything I had to convince myself not to go look at it, because I knew if I did I'd probably be bringing it home with me.
