Been working on some brakes for 3 days now ..
I replaced the pads and shoes. The pedal seemed low and would now go to the floor. Relooked and found a wheel cylinder leak so replaced both rear. Been bleeding and pumping and no better. Replaced the master cyl and still the same.. Any ideas?

have you bleed it at the abs actutator?
if it doesnt have bleeders (cant rember) try cracking each line to let it bleed out. if that doesnt work its usualy some crud stuck in one of the seats of the valves in the abs actuator. that can only be replaced not repaired or cleaned.

I looked for a bleeder and found none. Everywhere I crack the line I get pressure.
I tried so many times it may be too tight now lol.

    Thanks guys..

Gene, Buddy of mine had sorta same problem. He took it to garage that had a bleeder that also plug in to abs to cycle the abs while bleeding, Cost was like $160 I think, buddy is really cheap but said it was the best money he ever spent!
Call around and find garage with this and bite the bullet, thinking you`ll be happy

Some older Fords are the same way. Once air gets in, it usually takes the scan tool to cycle the ABS to get all the air out of the valves and the accumulator(s) in the unit. Then do a conventional bleed. Is it just rear ABS or 4WABS?

Ditto the above Gene...You may need to get a scan tool on it to get the brakes bled.
    Not uncommon...Good luck!

I'm the one trying to make the money lol. It happens to be my dads vehicle also. He says he would rather give me the money and also pay me to figure it out. He wants me to also buy him a shop manual for it. I found the manual on fleabay for $70 so he wants to get it tomorrow.
It's rear only.. May get the combination valve tomorrow, if we can even find one.

some of those are known for failing with the valve stuck open, pressure bleeds through the dump valve into the accumulator essentially dumping brake pressure. That would explain why you don't see a leak, but don't have a pedal

BUT.. I did find a wet cup seal on the rear AFTER I had rreplaced the shoes. My dad says that now that he thinks about it, he's not sure if the pedal was going down. It stops good and the pedal is firm and hard. If you pump it while the vehicle is off it gets hard. Hold the pedal down and start it, it goes to the floor. Drive it around, it feels fine..:hmmm: I'm pretty sure it was not going to the floor. He has to press the pedal to shift out of Park. I would think he would of had trouble.. I'm thinking it has to be coincidental that it failed. It would happen to me :bs:

You need to do a automated bleed on those style kelsey hayes abs units any time the hydralic system is opened but that being said you will need a good code scanner to do this.they dont have a awesome pedal in that body style anyways but then again im used to my manual brakes lol but i do deal with this stuff every day.

Not doubting that the procedure is out there. I do question the year.. I was still in the auto repair field back then and I don't recall using a scanner in them days to do any bleeding.. I hear you tho.. If that is what it ends up needing I will lose that to the dealer lol..that sux :16suspect
