nice looking mav. I think 16x8 will fit the back..the fronts may rub a little on tight cornering , being 16" ..but maybe not ..even though the front wells and susp. were disigned for a 14" wheel and tire. a 16x5 front may fit nicely. good luck ..and oh yea welcome to the forum.

I'm running 4 16X7 TT2's and if I had it to do again, I would go up to 17's just for a better selection of tires. I use a Kumho ASX 245/50R16 and I don't have any clearance issues. The front is tight(0.5in at the front pan), but doesn't hit anything. A 16X8 may allow it to hit and the widest tire I could find in a 16 that wasn't a truck tire is a 255/50R16 and they will not fit the front(racing tires and drag radials excluded) The Tirerack specs section of the tire selection gives a lot of info.

btw: you are also limited to a 12" rotor with most disc brake setups based on my research, stock Maverick disc brakes clear perfectly.

Thanks guys. You think the 17's would be ok in the rear?

Size wise, sure. A larger rear looks good(check out Maverickman's website)
I went with 16" because I was trying to get a decent performance tire without having the low profile sidewall. (mixing some oldschool looks with new handling)

OK here is the verdict. I went with the TT2 16 X 8 all around 4 inch back space 245 50 in the back and 225 50 in the front everything clears. looks good I'll post a pic as soon as the weather clears.

Awesome! glad it went well for you. look forward to pics:mischeif:

I definitely think we're in the minority having 16" wheels.

Thanks again, I actually unknowingly got the same tires you listed in your earlier reply. I got the tires at Discount Tire they were pretty helpful and mounted and dismounted a few tires for me to get the right fit. Having a proplem posting a pic on the thread. Just go to my gallery and take a look I put 2 pics there.
