A 48" Troy-Bilt rider mower. It was my parents' mower, used in Surfside, TX for about 3 years, so motor is sound, but body and pretty much everything is rusty from being in a beach community environment.

Folks are moving to Yuma in two weeks and gave me the mower for my 1/2 acre property.

Anyway, I welded up the muffler last summer, but it is now GONE! and I cannot run it in my neighborhood with "open headers".

Any suggestions for hot-rodding my mower up with a fancy exhaust setup? I was thinking of dualing it out and up and putting diesel flaps on it!:bananaman with some kind of baffles inline.

Most likely will sandblast the engine cover and redo with a flame job :D

The neighbors will LOVE me ;)

Check with Tractor supply, or Attwoods, or whatever farm stores in your area. Our Attwoods has some small diameter mufflers& flappers.

We will be visiting a bit during summers and christmas, so maybe we can get together sometime! There seems to be a good bit of AZ members in that area.

We have tractor supply store here. I plan on doing something cool!

    Some sort of motorcycle exhaust?

How many cylinders? Are the ports round, can they be/are they already threaded? If so, you can just use water pipe...

Another idea, what did you ever do with those side pipes you had? How 'bout glasspacks?

Also, paint it flat black with flames and fancy pinstripes...

Put a little weight in the back so you can do some nice wheelies taking off... :p

    Already a given!

Single cylinder, two-bolt flange with an open "header" attached. I can weld whatever I need to to it.

sold the sidepipes, but I was thinking the smallest glasspack I could find, aimed straight up about 2' over the side of the engine cover, with a hinged flappy thing on it would be cool.

Yes but the look on your neighbors' faces when they ask you, "is that a Flowmaster?" will be priceless.

You know, those flows on my car are being held on by just 2 nuts on a single hose clamp. i can yank one off and install it on the lawnmower temporarily just to see what it would sound like!

Probably like the straight exhaust sounds. I like the motorcycle muffler idea, and will be closer to the same size pipe.

    And......

    OK. Pics.

Remember, this is someone else's junk. MY hot rod! Eventually.

Sorry about sideways pic of engine. Linux Gimp won't give me the option to rotate, or if it does, I haven't found that option.

    Just you savor that patina!
