I bought a six-shooter of the RB a while back, didn't use a few of them. I've got some projects to take care of and I'm debating using these old, unopened cans or just getting some new ones, thoughts?
They'll be fine! I had a gallon of unopened Ford blue from 1988,no that's not a typo, that was perfectly fine! We were just going to get rid of the paint, and my painter friend suggested, why not just open it and check it out? It now resides on my Ranger truck, which was in dire need of looking better!
From my own experience. Solids will start to settle out in rust bullet after about a year, so it will require extra mixing time. If it has thickened up a bit from evaporation you can add a very small amount of Xylene to thin it back out but make sure not to thin too much or it will ruin the sealing properties.
Wanna sell it? Unlike these other losers, I don't expect you to GIVE it to me. I got a new hotrod I could use it on...a rusty old lawn tractor. That will likely get a flowmaster muffler or some stupid thing like that added on to it. But I could use some CHEAP rust bullet, if you are willing to sell it cheap. I think red flames would look great painted on top of rust bullet!
I can send a milk crate to him for shipping it back to me! I am utterly flabbergasted by the "popularity" or whatever you want to call it, of that stupid milk crate thread. That damned thing was supposed to be a quick question with one or two answers, and ended up being 4 pages long (at the time of this response). I guess there are a lot of milk crate thieves out there that I woke up with that question.
I would think that as long as they are unopened, they should be fine. I've seen unused paint sit around for years before it was opened and it was fine. I think "sealed" is the key word here.....
