I was at our local Ford dealer today getting my Mercury serviced, and was out looking at new trucks, I couldnt believe some of the prices on these trucks. One F-350 sticker price was almost 70k:shocked:, the Saleen Mustang was cheaper than some of the trucks. Sure does make my 2001 F250 look a lot better.

I looked at a 2011 Super Duty back in September. I was a tad under 60k, decided I really like my 2003 F250 CC

I kind of get used to it being at the dealer but our trucks are huge money full sticker. PDI on a 2011 Hemi quad cab 4x4 with the usual toys.Windows, locks etc. 47500. The dakotas are really over priced and dont sell. Figure a truck they made as ugly as the Dakota in 2005-present they'd be cheaper?
HAd a nice ride yesterday in the new 2011 Chrysler 300. What a piece of work. The car is flawless to drive. Had a 2010 Taurus in a few days ago that I thought drove nice. This 300 makes the Taurus seem like an economy car. I found the paddle shifter in the taurus kind of awkward and the trans didnt respond well at all. Was looking forward to trying them.

I bought my F150 new 17 years ago. I thought it may be time to replace it, but I was blown away with sticker shock! The parking lot at work is filled with them. If I financed one, the truck payment would exceed my house payment.

Who pays sticker? I went with my brother in law on Wednesday, to the dealer I buy from. The truck he wanted was over 35000 on the sticker, we got them down to 25000, then they gave him 10 grand for his Honda...(yuck, he wasn't allowed to park it in my driveway anyways) So, a 2011, 5.0L supercrew 4X4 XTR, for 25000....it's a hell of a deal!

I know, I worked at the dealership for 25 years (until 2000). I bought the last 2 new ones on the X plan, but I still think the F-Series trucks are over-priced.

Unless I win a lottery, I will never be able to purchase a new vehicle again. I just can't see paying more for a vehicle than I did for my house. I'd rather have a yard full of 10 year old or older vehicles than the payments on a new one. Insurance is cheaper, tags are cheaper, maintenance may be a little more but it's still less than new payments. Plus, if it's paid for, it can't be repo'ed!

Even if I could afford a new truck...

The difference of "New" and advanced technology isn't worth anything near $56,500 to me.

No monthly payments, no interest, no mandatory full coverage insurance...

    No brainer
