Doing my first silver state classic run, my speed will be somewhere in the 90-124 range. Wondering what tire brand I should go with (I'm gonna be getting all new ones for this race). I want to keep my 15x7 inch american racing outlaw II rims, is that ok?
The goal is to go up the speeds every, how many years would the tires be good for?

I would use race specific tires for the race, not street tires and your size limits your choices. V or Z rating minimum. JHMO:D

for road racing is it better to have bigger rims with smaller walled tires?

Yep, maybe a Z rated 245/45 r17 or so as long as the wheel is light.

found these 2255/24/15 tires. They are z-rated. Would they look odd on my 15" rims?

UMMM, yea. :16suspect You want tires that fit the car. And the wheels. Something like 245/60's all around. Or 235/60's on your 15 wheels. I ran 235/60's all round on my old 67 427 Mustang, I had it set up to run the highways too. Super stable at 100+ mph with all new front suspension and 4 wheel discs. Then once you have the car setup. practice, practice, practice. Learn and hone your skills to know what to do when something goes wrong at 100+ mph. I've seen plenty of guys who claimed they were good drivers, but panicked when faced with adverse situations at high speeds.
